We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Oliver as Sales Manager.

With over 20 years experience in UK forestry many readers will know Tim, although he’s worn a variety of 'hats' during the period. Initially working as Advertising Manager with Forestry & British Timber magazine (now incorporated into Forestry Journal) and more recently with a competitor tree shelter manufacturer, Tim’s has been a familiar face on the forestry and landscaping 'scene' for the past two decades.

With responsibility to develop UK and overseas sales of the already well established Acorn range of treeshelters, spiral guards, mulch mats and other sundry planting products, Tim is looking forward to getting to grips with his new role. "It’s great to have the opportunity to sell such a wide range of tried and test products" he enthuses, "and the Acorn range really ticks all the boxes, particularly for customers with a genuine aspiration to safeguard tree and shrub planting using environmentally sympathetic products (at reasonable cost of course)".

Wooden Anchoring Peg

We have received requests for a peg made from natural materials, suitable for using to anchor down our jute mulching products and have recently found an effective solution. These pegs will be made from wood, have good strength and, importantly, are cost effective. Please ask for further details.

 

Squirrel Guard

Trials on a new squirrel guard are ongoing and information will be posted on our web site as it becomes available.

 

Acorn has a special arrangement with Agri.cycle which enables all spirals, treeguards, shelterguards, packaging etc. to be recycled. This is a service that we are hoping will become widely used by our customers over the coming years. Agri.cycle is a farmer owned business, which operates through a range of local collection hubs across the UK and is fully approved by the Environment Agency.
